If you’ve had enough of your heavy back-breaking vacuum cleaner, then your answer is a cordless one. You should know that handheld vacuum cleaners are extremely useful and I’m also going to tell you exactly why. Whether you’re sick of breadcrumbs around your toaster or under the table (in case you don’t have some pigeons around the house that you plan on feeding, of course), mud on your brand new expensive car carpets, and stubborn dirt under your furniture, then a cordless vacuum cleaner will bust all the dust!
Tips for buying the best cordless vacuum cleaner
Here’s what you really need to consider before getting a wireless vacuum cleaner:
- Battery power: running times can vary from 10 to 40 minutes
- Battery charging time: charging time can also range from 2 to 16 hours
- If it’s bagless or not: emptying the canister of a bagless one can be a bit messier than removing a bag, so a bagless one might not be great if you’ve got allergies of some kind
- Capacity: conventional vacuum cleaners have a capacity around 2-3 liters, and wireless ones are smaller, somewhere around 0.3 to 1 liter
- Weight: they should be around 2 kilos
- Accessories and features worth-having: their specs may vary because there are lots of designs of cordless vacuums that come with different accessories; some come with pivoting nozzles or detachable hoses to help you reach all the awkward places in the house, and other vacuums come with crevice tools that you can attach to get into all sorts of confined crannies.
So that’s about it, these are the most important aspects you should consider before buying a cordless vacuum cleaner.

Now, let’s get down to business as I’m going to list a bunch of cordless vacuum that I’ve tested along with their features and downsides. So, here we go:
Eufy HomeVac Lightweight Cordless Upright Vacuum Cleaner
This one was another good find with a powerful power suction, and I was able to clean my house in one pass without having to recharge it. It comes with a large battery (2200 mAh Li-ion battery) that delivers super cordless performance for about 50 minutes. You can carry this vacuum effortlessly anywhere around the house or up the stairs, wherever the mess usually lurks.
It has a large duster of 0.9 L that can be really easy detached for emptying. Other cool features are its powerful Cyclonic System and electric rolling brush which work hand in hand to clean the mess in a single pass as I already mentioned. This HomeVac also uses a HEPA-style filter that managed extremely well to trap all kinds of allergens that can usually be found in my house such as mites, pet fluff, mold spores and so on. The vacuum was also able to prevent them successfully from being released back into the air while I was cleaning.
The HomeVac was easy to detach and to empty the dust holder, so I was able to keep both the floor and my hands clean. This is a really powerful dust buster that comes wrapped in a slim package so it can stand upright and slip easily into closet spaces. It features maneuverable swivel head pivots around table legs so it can slide under furniture with high finesse.
I can assure you that this is one of the best cordless vacuum cleaners that I’ve tried so far and no, I’m not generous here at all. Other vacuums have been either too bulky or too weak, but this one managed to work smoothly.
Bissell Multi Reach Cordless Stick Vacuum
This stick vacuum comes with a cordless, ultralight and versatile design and it’s able to clean all kinds of different floor types. It can also convert to a powerful hand vacuum for the smoothest and easiest cleaning of your car, stairs, upholstery, and more spots that are usually playing “hard to get” so to speak. Its removable 22V lithium-ion battery provides up to 20 minutes of fade-free cordless power (as you can see it’s a little less time than the one I’ve mentioned before). Its LED lights were able to illuminate dirt from all over the place.
What impressed me the most was its powerful multi-surface brush roll attachment that can easily lift and remove pet hair from hard floors and carpets as well. The built-in crevice tool was able to successfully remove debris and crannies from my place and also from the car. It also comes with a gentle dusting brush that can be used to brush away hair and dust from curtains, upholstery, lamp shades and more.
This convertible hand vacuum provided powerful and cordless convenience right in the palm of my hand with really versatile tools. It uses a technology called Suction Squeegee that is specially designed to pick up the finest dirt and pet hair but also larger mess piles. Its removable dirt tank has an easy empty design for a quick and mess-free emptying when you’re done. Emptying its dirt collector is a breeze, and all you have to do is hold it over your garbage pail and open up to bottom. All the nasties are gone! Great device, as well.
Hoover Linx BH50010 Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner
This one is a 18V cordless vacuum which has a fade-free lithium Ion battery system. I think that by using this vacuum, you’ll be able to see your cleaning day differently as it’s pretty sleek and versatile, so it’s able to deliver great performance. This is also the only stick vacuum with Hoover WindTunnel technology and cyclonic filtration that I know.
While using this little monster, I was able to lift deep down dirt from carpet to hard floors due to its Powered Brushroll with WindTunnel Technology. The vacuum’s intuitive power controls are positioned right where they need to be, and that’s right at your fingertips. Another great thing about this one is that you don’t have to guess who much battery it has left since you can instantly check this out n the battery light. I was able to vacuum for about 40 minutes on a full charge. Oh, and there wasn’t any weak suction when the power went low. It took about three hours to recharge.
I was able to access all the corners in my house, and I can tell you that this vacuum allows perfect edge-to-edge cleaning of all your corners and walls as well. Say goodbye to those unreachable spider webs on your ceiling.
I was also able to cover quite a large surface area in a really short amount of time, and when I was done, I didn’t have to get my hands all dirty, because it comes with a bottom release dirt cup. All in all, this cordless vacuum turned out to provide a hassle-free cleanup, so it’s definitely the best cordless vacuum if you ask me.
BISSELL Lift-Off Floors & More, Titanium, 53Y8
This detachable hand vacuum was also able to clean hard to reach places without much effort. It comes with a two-way folding handle for easy reach and compact storage. The fact that it’s cordless gave me the freedom to clean hard to reach places, but its downside was the fact that it only runs for about 12 minutes before you have to charge it again. Other than that, it cleans easily around your furniture, and it’s very maneuverable.
One of its coolest features is the 2-in-1 design that offers you the benefits of an effective stick vacuum and hand vacuum as well. You can use it on any surface from your house, and the brush roll provides powerful pickup on low pile area rugs and carpets. You can also clean more delicate surfaces such as laminate and hardwood.
It worked great on my linoleum, and I also used it to clean up the couch where my dogs love to sit. It was also successful on cleaning up the dirty mats in my car as well, and this was really important. It’s true that I heard that it might lose some of its suction power after a while but it wouldn’t know as I tested it just once and it went really great. You have to remove the brush every week in case you have a pet because you’ll need to unwind the hair but that not such a big problem, after all. It’s a great product that comes at an excellent price.
Oreck Commercial CK93010 Cordless Upright Vacuum
The vacuum arrived at my place well-packaged against damage and of course it came unassembled. Several molded cardboard pieces have to be removed to unpack the vacuum, and you’ll really want to remove all of them just to make sure you don’t miss any important parts. There are three main pieces to assemble: the body, the handle, and the brush head. Why am I telling you all these? Well, because I was surprised to discover that the included instructions didn’t provide any info on how to assemble this vacuum. This was a bit disappointing because I think that no matter how simple a product might be, it should really come with all the necessary information.
It is designed to function optimally, even if the battery is not fully charged and another annoying thing was that the battery seemed a bit difficult to remove and replace from both the charger and the vacuum’s body. I was able to use the vacuum of carpets and flat flooring as well, and it was able to do a great job, so I can’t complain about this. For carpeting, all you really need it its powered brush head and you’re good to go.
After it was fully charged, I used it on hardwood flooring and rugs from my main living area, and I was amazed by the powerful suction created by this vacuum. It sucked debris instantly from the edges of the flooring and rugs with immense ease. I was impressed. The dirt collection container was simple to remove and replace, and I could also empty it really quickly by just pressing the latch on the bottom of the collection container. I dumped the dirt straight into the trash without making any mess.
It worked for about 25 minutes but for what I had to do it was enough. I couldn’t lower it enough to vacuum under the beds, and this was a bit of a disappointment but not enough to be a deal breaker. Despite the limitations that I’ve mentioned the vacuum worked well all over the place including the kitchen, living room and hallways and I can admit I was impressed.
This 7.5 pounds portable and versatile vacuum is very lightweight and robust and features, of course, the rechargeable cordless convenience. The Shark promised to deliver a quick and convenient clean-up on all types of surfaces from room one to another. It should also offer superior cleaning on both carpet and bare floor, and it brags about its strong suction power and extended run time. It comes with advanced swivel steering for excellent control when you maneuver it around the furniture, and it has a motorized brush that is claimed by the manufacturer to lift pet hair from carpets and other areas.
Well, surprise! I wasn’t that happy while trying it. The only two things I liked about this vacuum were its portability/size and the fact that it’s battery operated. This is where my love for it ended. I found out that it can’t suck up all the things that it promises and I noticed this while walking around the house with bare feet on my wooden floor. I’ll tell you exactly what it wasn’t able to lift from there: cheerios, chips, and small scraps of paper. This is unacceptable in my opinion.
I have to admit that there were times when I wasted less energy and time as well while I was brooming! What it was able to successfully clean was surprisingly my dogs’ hair.
As you have already figured it out for yourself, this is not a cordless vacuum I would recommend under any circumstance.
Rollibot Puro 100 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
This one comes with a dual filter which usually offers superior suction of dust, debris, and dirt through the dual part filtration system. Its battery operates up to 25 minutes without recharging it, and the vacuum is designed with a massive 0.13-gallon bin for holding debris. It weighs only 3-5 lbs depending on what attachments it has on it and it fits practically anywhere.
It comes with a feature called RolliBot Puro 100 which promises to allow you to turbocharge your cleaning routine and clean up quicker and more efficient than ever before. This Puro has the suction power of 25 AW. The vacuum utilizes a motorized power tool that allows you to add more power to your cleaning routine. The manufacturer explains to us that in addition to the motor inside the body of the vacuum, there’s another motor embedded inside the brush head so the Puro can target debris at its source and provide greater agitation.
I can tell you that unfortunately, it’s not able to perform everything it promises. First of all, when it turned it on, it made such a noise as if it was creating a tornado of suction when in reality it was doing just that: making a loud noise for nothing. All I think this vacuum could successfully perform is clean the hardwood of bunny hair. Other than that, I had to go over and over again in the same areas on my carpets because it didn’t manage to do its job properly. What’s funny is the fact that when I turned the unit off while having the long attachment on it, the little bits it just sucked up came back rolling onto the floor. So’ this one is a no-no.
For me, the best cordless vacuum was definitely the Hoover Linx BH50010 due to its sleek and versatile features and specs. I have pure white shiny ceramic tiles covering my kitchen, and I can tell you one thing: I hate them passionately. I used to sweep them ten times a day, and I’m not joking. This vacuum was the only one that was able to clean them flawlessly. Goodbye, broom! It was the only stick vacuum cleaner with Hoover WindTunnel technology and cyclonic filtration that was able to deliver exactly what it promises and to make me see the whole cleaning experience from a different perspective, so I totally recommend it for an excellent and efficient cleaning.
